New To Spray Painting? - Learn With Water!
It’s easier than you think, but like all things new, understanding and a bit of practice goes a long way. I recommend practising with at least 10 litres of water and taking your time.
Water has a huge advantage over paint – you can make as many mistakes as you want without it costing you time and money!
The following instructions assume you have already completed the previous steps and are ready to have a go. (links to previous steps at bottom of page).
Step 3 - The Measure
- Fill the 10L bucket with water.
- Measure out an area of 10sqm.
- Spray this area 9 times using the previously learnt skills.
- There should be approximately 1 litre of water left in the bucket.
This is a speed test based on a ratio of 10sqm per litre*. If you run out of water before spraying the area 9 times, you are going too slow and applying too much product. The opposite applies if you have an excessive amount left in the bucket – you are not applying enough.
*Paint will have a recommended square metre coverage rate, please check this before starting to paint.
Once you are confident with the above you are ready to start painting
.
