New To Spray Painting? - Learn With Water!
It’s easier than you think, but like all things new, understanding and a bit of practice goes a long way. I recommend practising with at least 10 litres of water and taking your time.
Water has a huge advantage over paint – you can make as many mistakes as you want without it costing you time and money!
The following instructions assume you have purchased and assembled your Airless Sprayer and are ready to have a go.
Step 1 - Priming: Gets the Air Out Of The Spray Unit / Hose
Get a 10L bucket of water and place both your suction and prime hose in the bucket.
On the side of the sprayer is a switch that is used to change between priming and spraying. Typically the switch points in the direction of the action, eg: down for prime and away from the sprayer for painting.
Make sure the switch is turned to prime, turn machine on, and you will start to see bubbles in the water as the air is removed (you may also notice the spray hose starts vibrating away).
Do this on a low pressure until the bubbles stop – typically about 20–30 seconds.
Turn machine off and switch to spray mode.
