Wagner 18V Professional Spray Pack Vs Wagner Control Pro 300 Move
Wagner create sprayers for both the professional market and the Do It Your-Self, these are built to both an expected usage and a price point. The Wagner Backpack cordless sprayer is no exception.
I am frequently asked what the differences are between the Wagner 18V Professional Pack and other Wagner Control Pro 300, which is much cheaper and sold through big box retailers like Bunnings.
It is important to understand these differences and make an informed decision based on your actual needs.
I have listed these in order of what I think are the most important considerations:
Main Differences
1/ Adjustable Pressure
The pressure required when spray painting has a wide range of variables including the size of the tip and the viscosity of the paint. If the pressure is right you will use less paint and get the perfect results expected, the opposite is also true, too much pressure and you have excessive overspray and use more paint, too little pressure and you cannot apply the paint evenly and will get tailing.
Move 300 - 2 Settings
Pro Spray - Infinite Dial Setting
2/ Pressure Gauge
It is so much easier to adjust and get your spray patterns correct when you know your pressure.
Control Pro Move 300 - No Gauge
Pro Spray Pack - HEA Pressure Gauge
3/ Spray Gun
The design, ergonomics and quality of a spray gun plays a significant role in paint delivery, user experience and fatigue.
The Professional Spray Pack comes with the Wagner Vector Pro trade quality spray gun, this is the standard gun on the Pro Series and Super Finish range of machines.
The 300 Move is supplied with a Wagner T2 DIY gun, this is designed for smaller application periods and is a non serviceable part.

4/ Batteries (not applicable for skin only)
Quantity and quality of power supply
Control Pro Move 300 - 1 x Bosch 18V Professional 4.0Ah battery
Pro Spray Pack - 2 x Bosch 18V ProCore 4.0Ah Batteries
5/ Spray Hose
The quality here is vastly different with the Pro Spray Pack having the DN4 highly flexible 1/4 inch high pressure hose and the Control Pro Move uses a standard hose that is rigid and is more kink, twisting prone.
In summary the yellow one is considered DIY, while the black one is for trade use.
Buying an airless spray unit is an investment and an expensive one at that, if you have any questions, doubts or just want some no pressure advice please get in touch.
